Beautifully situated between Fitz Hugh Sound and Rivers Inlet, Penrose Island Marine Provincial Park is a unique archipelago of islands and islets. The park is used by the Owikeeno First Nations for traditional shellfish gathering. The Island is a pleasant place and offers good opportunities for diving, fishing, kayaking and wildlife viewing.

The 2,013-hectare park (934 hectares of land) extends across Penrose Island and includes several excellent anchorages. Because the island is an undeveloped wilderness area with no facilities, visitors should be self-contained and properly equipped. Wilderness, backcountry or walk-in camping is allowed. Suitable sites above the high tide line can be difficult to find because of the thick undergrowth of the coastal forest and rocky shore. If you decide to camp, use the beach at Clam Bay.

The nearest supply centre is Dawson's Landing, about 20 miles to the east, on the north shore of Darby Channel, Rivers Inlet.

Penrose Island Marine Provincial Park is located between Fitz Hugh Sound and the entrance to Rivers Inlet on the Discovery Coast of British Columbia.
